Barker the Dog

Sophie is a big fan of Barker the mannequin dog at Old Navy. I love picking up cute, trendy items for Sophie at Old Navy, especially since she doesn't wear them for long and I don't care how many seasons they last. When we go in, we spend at least our first ten minutes "talking" to Barker.

Just Kickin' It

While I was trying to get ready yesterday morning, I turned on a video for Sophie to try and distract her a little. She usually likes to be right there with me in the bathroom and empties out my entire bathroom junk drawer, plus my whole make up bag and usually then moves on to removing all my shoes from the closet. I often just let her do it and then make a game of picking it up all, but I didn't have the time today to let her make that big mess so I thought a little Mickey Mouse time would be perfect. Apparently she had other plans, because this is how I found her instead.

were on the ground because I was washing the sheets, but Sophie brought the

magazines over and positioned herself!

Seventeen Months

Sophie turned 17 months old today! The words are just flying out of her these days. There are way too many to list but a few of my favorites include uh-oh, please, thank you and love you (which sound pretty similar), cookie (coo coo) and tortilla (Chase taught her that one!) She gets a little frustrated with us because she has so much to say and we are just too stupid to understand her. Full paragraphs of syllables that I just can't quite decipher yet.  Sophie has sweetly named one of her babies Sarah and that baby seems to be the favorite right now. Sarah gets diapers changes, baths and bites of food whenever Sophie does. She has become a little daredevil climbing on top of things and shouting "ta da!" She loves being chased and continues to love feeding her dog sister Lulu and giving her bones as many times a day as I will allow. Some days she'll eat everything in sight and other days she manages to survive on blueberries alone. She's a bundle of energy who fights her nap time unless you'll cuddle with her, a problem that I really don't mind most of the time.

Stick It To 'Em

Sophie made her first sticker creation the other day with a pack of spring flower and butterfly stickers.

And then she tried to eat the stickers and climb on top of the table

and we were both over it.

Here is Sophie with every baby she owns, plus a Night Night Bear and a dog, all stuffed into her car. This wasn't my idea of course, she asked for it many times saying "peash, peash, peash..." which is what her please sounds like. There were a total of eight little bodies, plus her all jammed in there. It took some shoving on my part to get that door closed but I managed to make it work.

Sophie may not be a sushi connoisseur yet, but she does enjoy a bowl of miso soup from time to time.

Babes in Boots

The other day, Sophie decided that both she and her baby needed to wear boots. She selected a pair for each of them and then paraded her baby all around the house in those boots.

When it was time to head out for the day, she decided I needed to wear boots too! I tried to get a shot of all three of us but it just didn't work out.
