Such a busy girl.

We Now Have a Toddler
Just a couple of weeks shy of her first birthday, Sophie is officially toddling around. Its not a full walk yet, but each day she's getting a little braver. What started as one or two steps has turned into four, five, six.....

Peek-A-Boo Barn
Peek-A-Boo Barn is Sophie's favorite app. That's right, she has a favorite app. She plays it on both the iPad and my iPhone. Check her out.

Who Needs A Bilibo?
Have you ever heard of the bilibo? Apparently, it is supposed to foster imagination becuase it doesn't "impose a specific play pattern." That's according to its website. It's a chair! It's a turtle shell! It's anything your child wants it to be! I think I saw it on a few blogs and maybe even on one of the national morning shows a couple of months ago and I just don't get it. I think imagination toys are awesome but couldn't a bowl or really any other piece of rounded plastic do the same thing? But what do I know? I didn't understand Sophie the Giraffe until I saw how obsessed my Sophie became with it.
I had completely forgotten about the bilibo, but when Sophie decided that her Bumbo was a great toy, it looked sort of familiar. Once perfect for holding her floppy little body up as seen here, the Bumbo chair had pretty much been tossed aside. Until yesterday when she decided it was fascinating. She sat in it backwards, climbed onto it and used it as a step stool to reach higher on the wall.

Close Up
I want to catch every little detail of Sophie's face. Her eyelashes, her little nose, her lips and every little expression she makes. She's changing right before my eyes. She's a busy girl though and makes it pretty tricky these days to catch all those little details. When I grab my camera, I'll take 30-40 shots and most will end up like this

But every now and then I can sneak in a couple of great ones

Lovin' the Sippy Cup
Sophie is all about the sippy cup these days. She's been using it for months but has just recently become obsessed with it. You would think that I'm putting something more exciting in there than water, but nope, you'd be wrong. Just water. She still loves it.

Cruising
Sophie is on the move. She is officially "cruising" anywhere she can. This is one of her favorite spots to walk by herself. We have two big windows that look out into our backyard and each have a nice long windowsill at just the right height for her.

Look What I Can Do
Look how cute. Look at Sophie figure out how to get the puffs out of the can. Look at Sophie figure out how to spread those puffs all around the living room. Look at Sophie at get caught.

More Duck Action
This girl just can't get enough of the ducks. We've found a great park where the big, overbearing, aggressive geese are safely stuck on the other side of the fence and only the sweet, little, gentle ducks can squeeze through and actually get close to us. We still feed them all, but now I don't have to keep flapping my own arms at the geese to keep a little distance between us.

Number Five is Alive
The teeth are coming in fast and furious these days. Sophie's fifth tooth is coming in on the bottom right side (left side in the picture.)

It's Coming....
Eleven months have gone by and in just one more, our baby girl will be one! I can hardly believe she is eleven months old today. I know I say that every time she celebrates a month birthday. I'm already in planning mode...
