California Girl
Sophie loves eating fruit in the buff. What's more West Coast than that? Breakfast this morning was plums and blueberries, followed up with some peachy oatmeal, delish!

Peachy Pop
I made an amazing discovery the other day at Trader Joe's... peachy pops! They are simply peach puree frozen into popsicles. Sure, this is something super easy I could do at home, but I love the little packages. They remind me of Otter Pops and are so handy to just whip out of the freezer and give to Sophie as a special, healthy treat or snack. She's a big fan.
Couldn't resist a shot of the little tush.

Squishy Face
Weighing in at 18lbs, 8oz... I just can't get enough of that squishable, loveable face!
Sophie had her 9 month check up yesterday and is in the 50th percentile for weight. She also measured 28 inches long, putting her in the 75th percentile for height. She's growing like a weed and will definitely be taller than her mama someday, leaving me to always be the shortest in the family.

Baby Fetch
A favorite game in our household these days is baby fetch. Sophie throws the ball and then chases after it, throws it again....you get the picture. I love it because she doesn't seem to need my help with it, but it entertains us both!

Cousin Love
We spent a couple of days at Pine Mountain Lake with the Wadhams clan and Sophie had plenty of cousins to keep her entertained!

Baby Buddies
Lounging in diapers after a swim play date.
The mommies decided that trying to get three babies to pose is just about as easy as herding cats. Even though they weren't all looking at the same time, it still made for some very cute pictures.

Outtakes
I take a lot of pictures these days. Hundreds and hundreds of pictures, in fact. Probably, actually thousands. That's what it takes to get a few good shots. Not just to post here on the blog, but to capture all those sweet expressions and funny moments in Sophie's life. Even though we live in this great digital age where I can take these thousands of pictures and then delete the ones that don't work out, I just can't bear it. I keep them all! Here are a few of the funniest outtakes in the recent months.
Not interested in posing with me
Big blink
Crazy bird in the way
Sun in the eyes
Sick of Dad's kisses
Possessed baby
Fly on the cheek, how the heck did that happen?
I get tons of shots of the back of her head, she always manages to look
away right when I take the shot
And this is our most common outtake these days, crawling away from me.
This girl just doesn't hold still these days.

Celebration!
Sophie and I took a quick trip over to Aptos this weekend, along with Auntie Libby, Mimi and Grandpa Ricky, to be a part of a very special surprise. Aunti Madi and Vince got engaged! Vince coordinated the whole thing so that we could be there to surprise Madi and help celebrate.
Unfortunately Chase was down in San Diego defending his Beach Bocce Ball World Championship title so he couldn't be there. (Yes, he really was the champion in his division last year. )
It was an exciting and emotional weekend all around. Sophie met her future cousins and bonded with Uncle Vince.
The happy couple!

Boo Boo Bunny
With all of her new skills, bumps and bruises are becoming more common in our household. I know its inevitable, but I hate it! We picked up a Boo Boo Bunny the other day to help ice some of those little bumps but apparently Boo Boo is more soothing if you just suck him.

Sophie is 9 Months Old Today!
Our baby girl turns 9 months old today. I can hardly believe it. Some days it seems like she was just born yesterday. Other days, she already seems so much older than 9 months. She has an amazingly smart and funny little personality already and makes us smile every day. She also keeps us on our toes!
