Hawaiian Firsts

In addition to the beach and pool experiences, this trip included many other "firsts" for Sophie....

First flower in the hair

First time wearing sunglasses

First nap in a bar

First nap on the beach

First bite of watermelon (later bites were a bigger hit)

First mermaid tail in the sand

First vacation toes picture (a family tradition)

Beach Time

Sophie couldn't get enough of the beach and the sand. She wanted to put fistfuls of it in her mouth!

Pool Time

Sophie made her first splash in a pool while in Hawaii. She loved both the big pool and her own mini pool!

Hawaiian Mornings

We were up early most mornings in Hawaii. With the beach right in front of our house, one of Sophie's favorite activities was watching the world go by. There were walkers, dogs and even strange men power walking in thongs.

Little Traveler

There are too many great pictures from our trip to Hawaii that I can't possibly include all my favorites in just one post. Instead, I'll probably be posting them all week....hope you don't mind.

Sophie was an excellent little traveler and did not cry one bit on her first flight. She napped, she played and seemed to enjoy the whole experience. Chase had to travel a day later than us, so Auntie Madi was a big help.

A lot of people had me freaked out about the air pressure bothering her ears, but it didn't seem to affect Sophie at all. As you can tell from the pictures, she did have her binky in most of the time which could have helped. 

Home Again, Home Again

Aloha!

Today we are off to Hawaii! This will be Sophie's first family vacation, aside from a weekend trip here and there, and more importantly, her first plane ride. Wish us luck! We'll be back in a week to share pictures.

Lunch with the Ladies

Now that Sophie is sitting up so well, she's really enjoying sitting in high chairs out at restaurants and being a part of the action.

Reach For It!

This little monkey will be on the move soon! She's wiggling around to grasp at things just out of her reach.

Swinging, But Not So High

Sophie's first experience on the swings didn't exactly have her jumping for joy. She was a little unsure of the whole thing and couldn't really relax. This swing at the nearby park is still a little big. Check out the death grip.

Oops!

Guess we're still not quite ready to feed ourselves. 

Mohawks

As Sophie's hair grows longer, it often forms what can only be described as an awesome baby mohawk. Although I have been accused of styling it, I swear to you this mohawk is all natural.
