Last week, Sophie and I enjoyed a little special time. We met up with a bunch of other little girls from The Little Gym and their parents to take a field trip down to Hanford. We hopped on the 702 Amtrak train for a 30 minute ride. Sophie loved the fact that she wasn't strapped into a car seat and sat up on her knees looking out the window the whole time. We tried to guess what was growing in all of the fields we passed, a game that I am not very good at, but corn is always easy to spot! Down in Hanford, we had a Mexican lunch, the girls ran out their energy in the courthouse park and then we hit up Superior Dairy, the real reason for the trip. Sophie and I shared a sundae the size of both our heads combined. It did not disappoint! On our walk back to the train station, the carousel was running and the girls enjoyed a spin on it before heading home.

Glass Hass
Today is Sophie's last dance class of the season. She used to pronounce it "glass hass" but has slowly been saying it correctly. This season of dance has been such a special thing to watch. She has not only loved the time spent at The Little Gym, but is now proud of the moves she can show off.
Passe!
Tendu!
Releve!
But perhaps the best part of all is the friendships that Sophie has formed at The Little Gym. This year she has grown very close to her dance class friends and asks about them all the time. She looks forward to seeing them each week and they all now hug goodbye and hello. We've started spending a lot of time with these friends outside of class and will even see some of them in preschool in the fall.

Swingin'
Don't worry, not the creepy kind. Just a bunch of kids who love this "just the right height" bar more than anything else at The Little Gym right now.

Jump, Jump Sophie
After about 15-20 minutes of dancing, the kids head into the regular gym for the rest of their session. They climb, they jump, they run and learn a few tumbling and balancing skills. Sophie has been coming to The Little Gym since she was 10 months old and just loves it. In this class, the teacher brought out the air track with is like a bounce house floor with no walls. It's a favorite for all the kids.

| This is what we call the "baby brother parking" at the little gym. These three little guys were all born within the last two months. I'm amazed that they all sleep through class like this! |
