Glass Hass

Today is Sophie's last dance class of the season. She used to pronounce it "glass hass" but has slowly been saying it correctly. This season of dance has been such a special thing to watch. She has not only loved the time spent at The Little Gym, but is now proud of the moves she can show off.

Passe!

Tendu!

Releve!

But perhaps the best part of all is the friendships that Sophie has formed at The Little Gym. This year she has grown very close to her dance class friends and asks about them all the time. She looks forward to seeing them each week and they all now hug goodbye and hello. We've started spending a lot of time with these friends outside of class and will even see some of them in preschool in the fall.

Friday Flashback

When we were visiting Tahoe last weekend, we lucked out with such great weather. The sun was shining and made for such a nice afternoon for Sophie and I to spend hanging out in the Village at Northstar. We enjoyed listening to a live band by the ice skating rink and Sophie danced her heart out as usual. Looking back at our trip from last year, I realized that she danced in the exact same spot last year. Check out the difference a year makes in her dance moves (and her hair!)

Tippy Toes

Join us for dance class at the little gym...

Posing at home. She insisted that Lulu be in the picture too.

Scooping up the sun

And holding it up high

Pointing toes

Bunny hopping across the floor

And speed galloping back

Moves Like Jagger

Sophie certainly has the Moves Like Jagger and she'd like to share a few of these moves with you.

First, we will start off with the sway. Its an easy move to get yourself comfortable and feeling the music. Just a little back and forth, Sophie likes to think of it as her swagger.

Next, we have the circles. Feel free to go clockwise or counter clockwise, either way works just as well.

Finally, when you are feeling confident, go ahead and combine the two moves for an all around awesome dance party.
